When space is at a premium in your bar or around your counter top you will want to either get a backless adjustable height stool to take up the least amount of space or you will go for a folding counter stool. A folding counter stool will collapse the back rest the seat and the legs into a single thin plane and so flattened will become highly useful for stowing away and for transporting it from room to room and even to an entirely new place altogether such as a second home.
Bar stools are very popular items of furniture which not only enhance the appearance of a room but provide versatile seating for all types of occasions. Modern bar stools come in a huge variety of designs to suit rooms of any theme and some are even made for outdoor use. From traditional wooden counter stools for rustic country kitchens to contemporary metal bar stools complete with swivel seats ideal for a home bar or games room there`s a barstool design to suit all tastes.
Full height bar stools: These are typically 29 - 32 inches high. They will fit a bar top that is typically between 40 and 42 inches high to accommodate eating a quick bite or sipping a quick drink either at breakfast time when you are in a rush to get to work or when you are ready for a quick snack during the day.
Wooden western bar stools would then be upholstered with that cowhide leather using metal round top tacks which would provide a look of a western bar stool strongly resembling a horse saddle. Sometimes a saddle horn would be added to one side of the bar seat to complete such horse saddle bar stool.
Sometimes the legs will be made of natural branches with their natural curvatures giving a seat a rustic unique look. Later with the development of wood carving machines the legs would become straight and of the same shape and would feature simple circular ornaments.
Metal Bar Stools: Metal bar stools are often available in dozens of finishes. Look for a powder-coated and baked on finish. These finishes are by far more chip and scratch resistant than "spray painted" finishes. In addition to a more durable surface a powder coated finish is much less likely to be damaged by cleaning products than a painted finish.
